What is the CompassVirtual Bridge Club (CVC)?
In a nutshell .. it's one big Bridge-Club-In-The-Sky. Its members sign up by creating a login on this site in order to join in a game of RealBridge. When the results of their first session are processed their details are added to a virtual Compass database thereby opening a Compa$$ Wallet for them. (Compa$$ is the Compass Cashless Bridge module - say "Compass Dollar")
The CVC Wallet for each participant is debited the specified entry fee for any RealBridge session played. The Wallet will also show deposits made by the Player. Allowing at least one working day for processing, transactions and balances are available to view privately under the Cashless Bridge tab on this site.
Players use Internet banking to add funds to their CVC Wallet - preferably so it's in credit before a session starts. This will credit Bob Fearn's Westpac account 03-1392-0039194-001. Please give your your Name, NZB Number, and the narration "CVC". Collected funds are remitted to the organising clubs at month end. Note: the playing fees for members of clubs using Compa$$ will be taken directly from their home club Wallet when the session is being run by their club : they do not need funds in a CVC wallet unless they play in sessions organised by other clubs.
CompassVirtual (CV) is a service that collects the player entry fees for online RealBridge sessions. After the first game all players become members of the CompassVirtual Bridge Club (CVC) with the exception of those belonging to Coma$$ clubs who play only in events organised by that club. There is just one Licensee - Bob Fearn, author of Compass Scoring - while we get the system bedded in. The Licensee, through its Administrator, authorises entities to use this service. These entities are the Clients of CV. The clients appoint Organisers to set up and run their sessions. Any club or organisation, affiliated or not, is welcome to use this service. Note - CVC is, by its existence, a structured bridge club and can list and run its own sessions.
To use the CV service, the Clients, Organisers and Players must first agree to the published Terms and Conditions.
The Organiser sets up his RB session, specifying such details as approximate number of deals, suggested level, session entry fee, etc. Importantly they also publish the RB link to the session. The Organiser is responsible for running the RB session.
Players must be logged in to the mycompasss.com website to get access to the Player Link on the Upcoming Events page. They can then enter a session by clicking the published Player Link.
During the session Directors should use the CV tools to check the names, numbers, and financial status of all participants. For those Players with a negative balance, the director must advise that the player to add credit to their CVC Wallet asap. The Director has the right to remove any player that has persistent insufficient funds in their CVC Wallet.
At the session end, the Director must save the RB USEBIO file to a shared location in Dropbox. The USEBIO file records the player IDs which allow the CVC Wallets to be updated with playing fees.
CVC Administration will transfer collected entry fees to the Organiser’s bank account on a monthly basis and produce an invoice for the CVC commision.
It is hoped that this website, in time, will come to act as a hub for pending and completed RB events in New Zealand - not just playing sessions but scheduled lessons including Mini-Bridge. it's just a great way to organise payment for RealBridge events.
How it works for Organisers
The process depends on whether the Organiser uses the Compass Scoring system with or without Compa$$ or does not use Compass at all.
Compass Clubs with Compa$$
- Run the RealBridge event, validating the USEBIO at an early stage
- When finished import the RealBridge USEBIO result into the club's copy of Compass.
- Post the session
- Club member table money is posted to their existing Compa$$ accounts
- All visitor table money is posted to the club’s Visitor account AND
- The table money for all visitors is applied to the CVC database.
- Daily, CV Admin updates the CVC Wallets for these visitors.
- Monthly, CV Admin deposits the collected entry fee money for the visitors (this could cover multiple sessions) into the Compa$$ club’s bank account.
- Compa$$ Admin credits their Visitor Account with this payment.
Compass Clubs without Compa$$
- Run the RealBridge event, validating the USEBIO at an early stage
- When finished import the RealBridge USEBIO result into the club's copy of Compass.
- The table money for all participants is thereby applied, in the background, to the CVC database.
- Daily, CV Admin adds any previously unknown players to the CVC database and updates the CVC Wallets for all participants.
- Monthly, CV Admin deposits the table money collected on behalf of the Compass club (this could cover multiple sessions) into the Compass club’s bank account.
Other Clubs or Organisations
- Run the RealBridge event, validating the USEBIO at an early stage
- When the session finishes, the director saves the USEBIO file in a shared Dropbox folder.
- Daily, CV Admin processes the USEBIO file, adding any previously unknown players to the CVC database and updating the CVC Wallets with the playing fee for all participants.
- Monthly, CV Admin deposits the table money collected on behalf of the Remote club (this could cover multiple sessions) into the Remote club’s bank account.
How it works for Players
The process depends on whether the player is a member of a club using the Compa$$ cashless system, or not.
Players from Compa$$ clubs
- When playing in a session run by their own club, the entry fees are subtracted from their existing Compa$$ account.
- When playing in a session run by any other club, the entry fees are subtracted from their CV wallet.
Note: If these players do not intend to play online bridge organized by other clubs, a CV wallet is not required.
All other players
- When playing in any session, at any club, the entry fees are deducted from their CV wallet.
For Players wishing to participate in a RB session using a CV wallet:
- Make sure they register on the mycompasss.com website and agree to the CVC Terms and Conditions
- View the advertised RB sessions on the Upcoming Events page under the CompassVirtual tab of mycompasss.com to get the Player Link for the session they want to enter (links are visible only to logged-in Players).
- Players must use Internet backing to deposit funds in account number 03-1392-0039194-001. Allowing for a minimum of one working day to process banking transactions these funds will appear in their CV Wallet - preferably before they take part in any session.

FAQs
The Player Link is not active in the list of CV sessions You must be logged in to the mycompasss.com website to activate the Player Link
My account is not showing under Cashless Bridge You must allow at least one working day for us to process credits and/or debits. Credits come from bank downloads which do not become available until after the end of the working day. Debits come from processing USEBIO files from games played. When both have been processed we run a routine to update the virtual wallets and this website's Cashless Bridge tab.
